ExtraCover Insurance has been approved by ECB and has signed agreement with Staffordshire Cricket to be their official insurance partner.

The deal is the first in a new strategic approach to target cricket clubs through the network of Cricket Boards, who have direct responsibility for the clubs which are affiliated to them.

Staffordshire Cricket will provide ExtraCover Insurance with a series of measures through logo placement, email communications, face to face meetings and direct promotions to ensure that each of its clubs has access to professional insurance advice as well as being able to speak with the ExtraCover Insurance team to find the right level of insurance cover for their clubs.

Mark Dearden of ExtraCover Insurance met with Jason Britton, Development Director of Staffordshire Cricket at their offices to put pen to paper on the agreement which is the first of its kind in terms of direct investment in a cricket board.

Mark Dearden, Sports Development Manager at ExtraCover Insurance, speaking about this agreement said:

“We’ve been evaluating our traditional marketing on how we target cricket clubs, and we identified the need to develop closer links with the Cricket Board offices, as they have direct responsibility for all the cricket clubs that affiliate to them, and communicating to clubs about being insured to an adequate level is just one of their many roles.

Our agreement with Staffordshire Cricket, is the beginning of what we hope will be a very productive relationship between us and the 100+ clubs linked to them.

We aim to meet with as many clubs as we can at Staffordshire Cricket seminars and events, to get to know them better and to show them that we’re on their side when it comes to providing best advice and recommending the correct levels of insurance cover for their clubs.

We look forward to working closely with Staffordshire Cricket on this partnership and feel confident that we can provide a service to each and every one of their member clubs.”

Commenting on behalf of Staffordshire Cricket, Jason Britton said:

“Staffordshire Cricket is delighted to be working with Marshall Wooldridge and its ExtraCover Insurance scheme, the only insurance policy supported and endorsed by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Part of our role as a County Cricket Board is to help make club life as manageable and burden-free as possible and through our partnership we look forward to helping clubs ensure they’ve got the appropriate insurance cover.

We’re also working on an Affinity Scheme to help reward clubs financially when their members purchase other insurance products provided by Marshall Wooldridge.”
