ExtraCover Insurance, the only cricket club insurance product approved and endorsed by the ECB.

ExtraCover Insurance is run by Yorkshire based brokers Marshall Wooldridge, has agreed to become a sponsor of the Lancashire Cricket Board.

The deal is part of a new strategic approach by Marshall Wooldridge to promote the product to cricket clubs through the network of County Cricket Boards, who have direct responsibility for the clubs which are affiliated to them.

The Lancashire Cricket Board will provide ExtraCover Insurance with opportunities to promote the product via logo placement, email communications and at various LCB key events to ensure that each of its clubs has access to professional insurance advice as well as being able to speak with the ExtraCover Insurance team to find the right level of insurance cover for their clubs.

Mark Dearden of ExtraCover Insurance met with Bobby Denning, MD of the Lancashire Cricket Board on a bright sunny day at Emirates Old Trafford to put pen to paper on the agreement.

Speaking about the agreement Mark Dearden, Sports Development Manager for ExtraCover Insurance said:

"... we identified the need to develop closer links with the County Cricket Board offices". He highlighted that Country Cricket Board Offices have direct responsibility for all the cricket clubs that affiliate to them, and communicating to clubs about being insured to an adequate level is just one of their many roles.

“Our agreement with the Lancashire Cricket Board is the beginning of what we hope will be a very productive relationship between us both, and ensures the clubs linked to them have direct access to the very best advice on insuring their cricket club through the ExtraCover team".

“We aim to meet with as many clubs who affiliate to the Lancashire Cricket Board as we can, to get to know them better and to show them that we’re on their side when it comes to providing best advice and recommendations on the correct levels of insurance cover for their clubs.”

Commenting on behalf of the Lancashire Cricket Board, Bobby Denning added:

“We thank Mark and his team for their sponsorship of the LCB, with both our organisations recognising the importance of the correct levels of insurance for our affiliated clubs. We will ensure our clubs are made aware of ExtraCover Insurance through our appropriate channels and networks.”
